CHAPTER 3:

The First Book of Adam and Eve

Concerning the promise of the great five days and a half.

1 GOD said to Adam, "I have ordained on this earth days and years, and thou and thy seed shall dwell and walk in it, until the days and years are fulfilled; when I shall send the Word that created thee, and against which thou hast transgressed, the Word that made thee come out of the garden and raised thee when thou wast fallen.

2 Yea, the Word that will again save thee when the five days and a half are fulfilled."

3 But when Adam heard these words from God, and of the great five days and a half, he did not understand the meaning of them.

4 For Adam was thinking that there would be but five days and a half for him, to the end of the world.

5 And Adam wept, and prayed God to explain it to him.

6 Then God in His mercy for Adam who was made after His own image and similitude, explained to him, that these were 5,000 and 500 years; and how One would then come and save him and his seed.

7 But God had before that made this covenant with our father, Adam, in the same terms, ere he came out of the garden, when he was by the tree whereof Eve took the fruit and gave it him to eat.

8 Inasmuch as when our father Adam came out of the garden, he passed by that tree, and saw how God had then changed the appearance of it into another form, and how it withered.

9 And as Adam went to it he feared, trembled and fell down; but God in His mercy lifted him up, and then made this covenant with him.

10 And, again, when Adam was by the gate of the garden, and saw the cherub with a sword of flashing fire in his hand, and the cherub grew angry and frowned at him, both Adam and Eve became afraid of him, and thought he meant to put them to death. So they fell on their faces, and trembled with fear.

11 But he had pity on them, and showed them mercy; and turning from them went up to heaven, and prayed unto the Lord, and said:--

12 "Lord, Thou didst send me to watch at the gate of the garden, with a sword of fire.

13 "But when Thy servants, Adam and Eve, saw me, they fell on their faces, and were as dead. O my Lord, what shall we do to Thy servants?"

14 Then God had pity on them, and showed them mercy, and sent His Angel to keep the garden.

15 And the Word of the Lord came unto Adam and Eve, and raised them up.

16 And the Lord said to Adam, "I told thee that at the end of five days and a half, I will send my Word and save thee.

17 "Strengthen thy heart, therefore, and abide in the Cave of Treasures, of which I have before spoken to thee."

18 And when Adam heard this Word from God, he was comforted with that which God had told him. For He had told him how He would save him.

MY THOUGHTS AND INSIGHTS ON THIS CHAPTER

God promised Adam that after 5 and a half days (with which one day with God is equivalent to 1,000 years for humans) God will send the Word to save him.

Based on Wikipedia and ScienceDirect, it was believed that Jesus was born 5,500 years after the creation of the world based on the calendar A.M. or Anno Mundi which is the Latin word for "in the year of the World".

Sidenote:

According to ScienceDirect, the creation had taken place on March 23, it is also the first day of the zodiac sign Aries.

And Aries is the first zodiac where the old calendar started.

It fascinates me that the Word who will come 5,500 years after the creation is none other than Jesus himself.

And as said on the scripture from John 1:1-4, it was said that:

"1 In the beginning the Word already existed. The Word was with God, and the Word was God.

2 He existed in the beginning with God.

3 God created everything through Him, and nothing was created except through Him.

4 The Word gave life to everything that was created, and His life brought light to everyone."

If I were going to replace the phrase "the Word" and all of its pronouns with the name of "Jesus", this is what it will tell us:

"1 In the beginning Jesus already existed. Jesus was with God, and Jesus was God.

2 Jesus existed in the beginning with God.

3 God created everything through Jesus, and nothing was created except through Jesus.

4 Jesus gave life to everything that was created, and Jesus' life brought light to everyone."

Biblically speaking, it was also written that indeed, a thousand years for us human is just equivalent to 1 day for God.

Based on 2 Peter 3:8, it was said that:

"But you do not overlook this one fact, beloved, that with the Lord one day is a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day."

Another scripture from the Bible that tells about the years equivalent to one day for God is in Psalm 90:4, it was written that:

"For a thousand years in your sight are but as yesterday when it is past, or as a watch in the night."

God promised Adam to send Jesus to save us all after 5,500 years, to save Adam and Adam's fruits -- us, the human race.

And during the life and ministry of Jesus, He said this as written on John 6:38:

"38 For I come down from heaven not to do my will but to do the will of Him who sent me."

It is God's will to send Jesus as He promised to Adam to save us all. God made this covenant to Adam after they have disobeyed Him.

Save us from what?

God told Adam and Eve not to eat the fruit of knowledge, but they have not followed it and so the curse of death from eating that fruit will come.

It was said on the scripture of Genesis 2:15-16:

"15 The Lord God placed the man in the Garden of Eden to tend and watch over it. 16 But the Lord God warned Him, 'You may freely eat the fruit of every tree in the garden - except the tree of knowledge of good and evil. If you eat its fruit, you are sure to die.' "

When Jesus came to the world, He overcame death through His resurrection, then human will also overcame death because Jesus already died on the cross.

Jesus already paid the price of what human should pay for the sins that was committed with the punishment of death, so that we may live.

Why God did this?

Based on this chapter at verse 9, it was said that:

"9 And as Adam went to it he feared, trembled and fell down; but God in His mercy lifted him up, and then made this covenant with him."

Yes, God sent Jesus to die for us because of His mercy when Adam wept, feared, trembled and fell down as Adam was exiting the Garden of Eden.

Adam really wanted to go back to the Garden but was already forbidden. And so, when the cherubs asked God what to do with Adam and Eve, God made a way as written on verses 14-18 of this Chapter:

"14 Then God had pity on them, and showed them mercy, and sent His Angel to keep the garden.

For He had told him how He would save him."

God foretold Adam that He will send the Word, also known as Jesus. God will send Jesus to save us.

Adam was comforted of what God told him on how He would save him and his fruits, this is God's covenant for us to be saved.

As it was said on the scripture of John 3:16 as Jesus was talking to a Jewish religious leader named Nicodemus:

"16 For this is how God loved the world. He gave His one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. God sent His son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through Him."
