Devotion Day 4

Today's Devotion:

‭Luke 7:47 NIV‬

[47] Therefore, I tell you, her many sins have been forgiven—as her great love has shown. But whoever has been forgiven little loves little.”

Reflection:

It is my mission now to complete the scriptures on this blog and make it a little creative to entertain my readers while learning about God's words. It makes me feel fulfilled doing this and it also strengthen my spirit becoming more sensitive to the message of the Holy Spirit.

Yes, prayers and reading the Bible will strengthen our spirits making us more sensitive to the message of the Lord. It is our responsibility to do these in order for us to connect ourselves to our Creator and know His messages for us.

The more we pray and learn His words, the more our spirits become healthy and so our whole body and mind. If our spirit is weak, so is our body and mind. Prayers, reading the Bible and fasting (which I plan to do in the coming days) are essential practices to make our spirit strong in this world. As how eating and exercising are essential for our body. And reading, studying and thinking are essential for the mind.

And if our spirit is strong and healthy, so then our body and mind will be as well. Maybe, that's why the scripture that said, seek ye first His Kingdom and all His righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you, is so so true!

‭Matthew 6:33 NIV‬

[33] But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

About the scripture for today's devotion, it is about a woman who went to Jesus after learning that He is going to the Pharasee's house. She went to serve Jesus. Wet Jesus' feet with the perfume that she brought while weeping upon Jesus' feet. And Jesus said that her many sins were forgiven because of her great love for Him.

Jesus was saying that many of our sins will be forgiven if we have great huge love for Him. And if we love Him less, will be forgiven a little as well.

If we love Jesus, we feel it in our hearts. But, feeling isn't enough and actions speak louder than words.

Loving Jesus will involve several key principles and actions to demonstrate a deep, personal relationship with Him.

Here are biblical ways to love Jesus:

1. Obey His Commands

  • John 14:15: "If you love me, you will keep my commandments."
Loving Jesus means living in obedience to His teachings and following His example of righteousness.

2. Abide in His Word

  • John 8:31-32: "If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free."
Loving Jesus involves studying, meditating on, and applying His Word in your daily life.

3. Put Him First

  • Matthew 22:37: "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind."
Loving Jesus requires prioritizing Him above all else—above family, career, possessions, or personal desires.

4. Love Others

  • John 13:34-35: "A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another."
Loving Jesus is expressed through love and service to others, reflecting His love.

5. Have Faith and Trust in Him

  • Hebrews 11:6: "And without faith, it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him."
Trusting Jesus and believing in His promises is a demonstration of your love for Him.

6. Follow Him Wholeheartedly

  • Luke 9:23: "If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me."
Loving Jesus means being willing to surrender your life to Him and live for His purposes.

7. Spend Time with Him

  • Mark 1:35: "And rising very early in the morning, while it was still dark, he departed and went out to a desolate place, and there he prayed."
Jesus set an example of prayer and communion with God. To love Him, spend time in prayer, worship, and fellowship with Him.

8. Serve Him

  • Colossians 3:23-24: "Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ."
Serving Jesus through your talents, time, and resources is a practical way to show your love.

9. Repent and Live Righteously

  • Acts 3:19: "Repent therefore, and turn back, that your sins may be blotted out."
Loving Jesus includes turning away from sin and living a life that honors Him.

10. Proclaim His Name

  • Matthew 28:19-20: "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you."
Sharing the gospel and living as a witness of His love is a way to demonstrate your love for Him.
Just an insight came to me and I need to write this down before I forgot.
This new year, we have new set of goals and vision. People are motivated to follow their goals in mind. There is nothing wrong about that, but putting your faith on yourself alone is a selfish faith, but instead put your faith to the Lord that He is able to make your goals/dreams come true for you.

He was able to do anything, to heal you without medications, give life to the dead, to calm the storm, to feed thousands of people from the 5 loaves and small fishes, anything that is impossible for any man to do, Jesus can, just put your trust and faith in Him that He can do it for you. Your faith to Him is sure enough to make your dreams come true!

Let it be known to Him through prayers because Jesus ♥️ loves you!

Prayer:

Thank you Lord Jesus for your Words. For the teachings you have imparted on us on how to live our life in this world that is pleasing to the Father and to You. Help me Lord to strengthen my spirit through studying your Words and please You with my actions.

Thank you for the forgiveness of my sins that I know and not know of which I am all guilty of. Because of Your sacrifice, my debts were forgiven and Your blood has freed me from it.

I wanted to deepen my faith and connection with You as I read and reflect on your Words. May this time, I would be able to complete my mission of reading and understanding your Words and that I might be able to live through it. That I might be able to present Youur Words through the gift of creativity that you have given me in sharing your Words in this online platform.

Bless us, Lord Jesus, that may all the temptations of sinning again flee from us. I declare in Your mighty name, Jesus, that all the evil temptations get away from us.

Bless us, Lord Jesus, in the provision of our daily need as You have always been for us.

In Your mighty name, Lord Jesus, I declare and pray these by the power of the Holy Spirit to the Father.

Amen.
